Biography

As a player Alex Bruce was a much-travelled defender or defensive midfielder who turned out for numerous clubs, including Oldham Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday, Tranmere Rovers, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Bury, Kilmarnock and Macclesfield. The son of the former Manchester United defender Steve Bruce, after hanging up his playing boots at Macclesfield, Alex joined his father’s backroom coaching team at EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion in February 2022. Alex Bruce is the holder of a UEFA ‘A’ licence.
